About the Parish
Bengeo Rural is a civil parish in the district of East Herts, which itself forms one of the ten districts and boroughs of Hertfordshire county. The parish itself was formed under the 1894 Local Government Act.
The parish itself comprises of the village of Tonwell, the hamlet of Chapmore End, as well as additional settlements at Stonyhills, Crouchfields, and Westmill. The population of the parish was 601 at the 2001 census.
